New Director of Business Development brings the right mix of cyber security, outreach and sales experience at a pivotal moment for Click Armor.
OTTAWA (ON), March 7, 2023 – Click Armor®, the first cybersecurity awareness training platform built specifically for employee education using interactive gamification, has announced the appointment of Ryan Healey-Ogden as Director of Business Development.
Healey-Ogden will help drive a new phase of revenue and customer growth for the company by leveraging his extensive experience in building high-value customer bases and partner programs. He will also promote the fundamental need for innovation in the global security awareness industry, which Click Armor is poised to revolutionize using its gamified learning technology.
“We have clearly demonstrated that customers love Click Armor’s ‘gamified’ approach to cybersecurity awareness training,” said Scott Wright, CEO and co-founder at Click Armor. “Employees who complete our highly interactive phishing and social engineering courses feel more engaged and more confident, which builds a more resilient and security-conscious culture. Now is the time for us to put a seasoned sales professional in charge of driving lead development and closing business in a more efficient way.”
The announcement coincides with, and complements, Click Armor’s membership in the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst Accelerator for cybersecurity start-ups. The company’s visibility as part of this internationally-respected commercial accelerator will provide a fertile environment for Mr. Healey-Ogden to build a fast-growing industry player in Canada, the US and around the world.
Since incorporating in 2019, the company has designed and implemented a purpose-built Software as a Service (SaaS) training platform that breaks the mold of boring, unengaging compliance training programs by using the concept of gamification. Studies have shown that 61% of employees feel bored and unengaged with traditional types of training programs, such as those based on legacy “Learning Management Systems” (LMS). In contrast, 83% of employees feel more motivated and engaged when the training experience is gamified, to make learning more fun and effective.
Healey-Ogden is a seasoned cybersecurity sales and business development leader, having previously led sales for Toronto-based cybersecurity start-up Nivee. Healey-Ogden also spent several years in sales management at Telus, and ran his own IT services company.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining Click Armor, and to be in such an important role at this stage, where I can make a strong contribution to its growth,” says Healey-Ogden. “In my view, the solution is destined to disrupt the cybersecurity awareness training industry, which has stagnated for too long. There have been too many complaints by employees that their organization’s awareness training is boring, vague, and irrelevant. This has primarily been caused by a lack of engaging delivery by existing vendors in this space, and it’s a key reason why employees are targeted so successfully by cyberattacks.”
Healey-Ogden joins the management team with company founder CEO Scott Wright and COO Stephen Grant.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Ryan’s experience in educating people about cybersecurity and gaining customer and partner commitment,” said Wright. “The expertise Ryan brings to the team will accelerate Click Armor’s growth in the coming year.”
